Disagree with Your Assessment?

If you disagree with your property assessment or you think there are omissions or corrections required on your Property Assessment Notice, you can file a Request for Reconsideration (RfR) for our review, free of charge. If you aren't satisfied with the results of your RfR, you can also file an Appeal with the Assessment Review Board.

If you're considering submitting a Request for Reconsideration (RfR), ask yourself, "Could I have sold my property on January 1, 2016 for the assessed value."  If the answer is no, log in to AboutMyProperty to learn more about how your property was assessed, see the information we have on file, and compare it to other properties in your area.

The fastest and easiest way to file a Request for Reconsideration (RfR) is online through AboutMyProperty. Learn more about how to file a RfR and the review process.

Please note that if you own a residential property, farm or managed forest, you are required to file an RfR before filing a Notice of Appeal.

Learn more about filing an Appeal here.

If you own a business property, you may file a Notice of Appeal directly with the Assessment Review Board without filing an RfR.

If you own a residential property, farm or managed forest, you are required to file a Request for Reconsideration first.
