MPAC Meets International Standards to Earn Certifications Once Again!

Photo of MPAC IT staffRecognized for the fourth year in a row by the British Standards Institute (BSI), MPAC has successfully earned ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27017 recertifications again this year in the areas of information security management systems and cloud services information security, respectively.

During a demanding three-day audit, the IT team, with support from several departments, demonstrated a commitment to meeting the international best practices and compliance requirements based on over 100 controls across 14 categories that included supplier relationships, human resources security, asset management, operational security, cloud security, legal, privacy, cryptography, and access control.

“Being recognized by an international organization that holds us to the highest standard in our processes is a significant achievement and one that demonstrates to our stakeholders and customers that we are doing our due diligence in keeping our data safe,” says Mirza Baig, Director, Cyber Security, Information Technology. “This recognition was not achieved in isolation, and I am proud of the extraordinary work and collaborative effort shown by everyone during the audit and throughout the year.”

MPAC is one of less than 100 companies in Canada to hold both certifications. This huge achievement shines a well-deserved spotlight on the IT department’s expertise in bringing effective security practices to the organization, along with agile methodology, defense-in-depth strategy, new technologies and innovative solutions.

Congratulations to the IT department and to everyone who contributed to this outstanding achievement.
