PropVu and MPAC announce strategic partnership to modernize property assessment through AI-powered virtual inspections
PropVu and MPAC (Municipal Property Assessment Corporation) today announced a strategic partnership to help modernize and streamline the property assessment inspection process across jurisdictions through the use of secure, made-in-Canada, AI-powered virtual inspection technology.
As part of the partnership, MPAC will license and use PropVu’s virtual inspection platform as a complementary inspection option alongside traditional in-person inspections, where appropriate. The platform allows property owners to participate in guided virtual inspections, reducing the need for in-home visits while maintaining professional oversight, data quality, and assessment integrity.
Virtual inspections are not intended to replace in-person inspections in all cases. Instead, the technology provides assessors with an additional, flexible option that can improve efficiency, enhance consistency, and support modern service expectations—particularly where a physical inspection is not required.
In addition to its internal use, MPAC will make PropVu available as a standalone commercial solution to other assessment jurisdictions. Alongside its legislated role in Ontario, MPAC operates a commercial services division that shares assessment expertise and technology with other jurisdictions, with revenues used to help offset the cost of assessment services for Ontario municipalities.
PropVu is offered independently of MPAC’s Insight assessment software, allowing organizations to adopt the platform without significant cost, system integration, or long-term implementation timelines. The solution is hosted and supported by PropVu.
“Property owners increasingly expect inspection processes that are secure, convenient, and transparent,” said Robert Caniglia, Co-Founder and CTO, PropVu. “Working with MPAC allows us to scale a Canadian-built solution that supports assessors with accurate data, consistent reporting, and a modern inspection experience.”
PropVu’s platform supports virtual property inspections through intelligent data capture, automated documentation, and standardized reporting. This helps assessment organizations manage increasing workloads, reduce field time, and improve consistency and accuracy across inspections. As municipalities and assessment jurisdictions look to modernize, the platform supports faster inspection cycles, stronger auditability, and more cost-effective workflows, while offering property owners a more convenient inspection experience.
“MPAC is committed to modernizing assessment practices in ways that benefit property owners and strengthen public confidence in the system,” said Carmelo Lipsi, Chief Valuation & Operating Officer, MPAC. “PropVu gives property owners a secure, convenient way to participate in inspections, while helping our assessors collect accurate, consistent information. It’s a flexible option we’ve tested and trust.”
“Offering PropVu as a standalone solution gives other assessment jurisdictions a practical way to adopt modern inspection tools without significant cost or complexity,” said Chris Fusco, Vice-President, Professional Services, Commercial & Client Solutions, MPAC. “It provides flexibility from municipalities while supporting assessors and maintaining the professional standards required for property assessment.”
The partnership reinforces both organizations’ shared commitment to transforming the property assessment process through responsible, technology-driven innovation and improved service delivery.
